BUNKER

These are some of the questions we get asked most often – and luckily, we’ve got answers to all of them! If you don’t find what you’re looking for here, feel free to reach out via email or phone – we’ll be happy to help!

  • What am I allowed to bring to the rooftop garden?

    To ensure safety and order, consuming food and drinks brought from outside is not permitted. Additionally, due to the structural conditions, it is unfortunately not possible to bring dogs or strollers.

  • Can I bring my dog to the rooftop garden?

    Dogs are not allowed on the mountain path or the rooftop garden.

  • Can I use the elevator?

    If you have a physical impairment, are staying at our hotel, or have a table reservation at one of our restaurants, you are allowed to use the elevator. After the regular opening hours of the mountain path, the elevator is accessible to all visitors.

  • Is there an entrance fee for the rooftop garden?

    No, the rooftop garden is free of charge.

  • Who owns the BUNKER?

    Matzen Immobilien GmbH & Co. KG is the leaseholder of the bunker and was responsible for developing the Stadtgarten project.

  • What does RIMC mean?

    The RIMC Hotels & Resorts Group (https://www.rimc.de), based in Hamburg, is the operating company of the Hamburg BUNKER.

  • How many plants are there on the BUNKER?

    There are approximately 4,700 trees, shrubs, hedges, woody plants, and climbing plants, as well as more than 16,000 perennials.

  • Where can I go if I haven’t booked a room?

    You’re very welcome to come up via the mountain path. On our level 00, you’ll find the restaurant and bar KARO & PAUL, the café Constant Grind, and the Rock Shop. If you continue up the mountain path, you’ll reach the restaurant La Sala on the 5th floor. The rooftop garden is also freely accessible. So feel free to stop by—even if you haven’t booked a hotel room.

  • Does Uebel & Gefährlich still exist?

    Yes, Uebel & Gefährlich still exists. You can find it in the original bunker on the 4th floor.

  • How do I get to the BUNKER?

    From Hamburg Central Station

    Subway From Hauptbahnhof Süd, take the U3 (yellow line) in the direction of Barmbek. Get off at the Feldstraße stop. From there, it’s a 3-minute walk to the BUNKER.

    From Hamburg Airport (HAM)

    S-Bahn and Subway: Take the S1 (green line) towards Wedel. At Ohlsdorf station, transfer to the U1 (blue line) towards Farmsen/Volksdorf/Ohlstedt. At Kellinghusenstraße station, transfer again to the U3 (yellow line) towards Wandsbek-Gartenstadt. Get off at Feldstraße. From there, it’s a 3-minute walk to the BUNKER.

La Sala

These are some of the questions we regularly receive about our restaurant La Sala – and of course, we’ve got the answers! If you don’t see your question here, just reach out via email or phone – we’re happy to help.

  • Is there room service?

    No, we do not offer room service. Our dishes can only be eaten in La Sala.

  • Can I take my food with me?

    No, we do not offer take-out food. Drinks and pastries can be purchased for takeout at the Constant Grind Café.

  • Are there vegan or vegetarian options?

    Yes, we offer a variety of vegetarian dishes. Vegan options are also available. Please speak to our colleagues directly about this.

  • Do you have gluten-free alternatives?

    Please speak to our colleagues about gluten-free alternatives.

  • Is the restaurant part of the hotel?

    The REVERB by Hard Rock Hotel and the La Sala Restaurant are both located in the Hamburg BUNKER, and the hotel breakfast also takes place here. However, they do not belong together. You are welcome to come by even if you are not a hotel guest.

  • Do you need to book?

    We definitely recommend booking a table in advance. However, you may also be lucky and get a table at short notice.

  • How do you reach La Sala?

    If you have a table reservation, you are welcome to take the elevator to level 0, to the left of the bunker. Then head towards the hotel reception, from where the elevators go to La Sala on the 5th floor.

  • Can I take my dog with me?

    Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at La Sala.

  • When is there live music?

  • How can I apply?

KARO&PAUL

These are some of the most frequently asked questions about our bar and restaurant KARO&PAUL – and of course, we’ve got the answers ready for you. If anything remains unclear, feel free to reach out via email or phone – we’re happy to help!

  • Do you need to book?

    We strongly recommend reserving a table at our KARO&PAUL restaurant. But you can also try spontaneously. You cannot reserve tables at the KARO&PAUL bar. Just come by.

  • When is there live music and where can I buy tickets?

  • What are the opening hours?

    The KARO&PAUL bar is open from 4 p.m. on Tuesdays to Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

  • How can I book a private dining experience?

    For bookings of our KARO&PAUL Private Dining area, please contact us by email at events@hamburgbunker.com.

  • What is the dress code?

    Come as you are – with us, you can be as you want and wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.

  • How do you get to KARO&PAUL?

    To get to the KARO&PAUL, you can walk up the mountain path to level 0. If this is not physically possible, you will find an elevator on the left side of the bunker that will take you to level 0. After the opening hours of the mountain path, everyone is allowed to use the elevator.

  • Can I take my dog with me?

    Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at KARO&PAUL.

  • Is there also something to eat downstairs at KARO&PAUL?

    Our KARO&PAUL dishes are only served in the K&P restaurant on level 01. The bar on level 00 only offers small bar snacks such as nuts.

  • Can I reserve a table by the window?

    Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee you a specific table when you book with Open Table. However, you are welcome to send your reservation request with a request for a window seat to karoundpaul@hamburgbunker.com and we will see if we can fulfill your request.

  • How can I apply?

  • Is the bar part of Hard Rock?

    Our bar is independent and does not belong to Hard Rock. You are welcome to come by, even if you are not a hotel guest!

  • Can I make a reservation for a group?

  • Can I buy a gift certificate?

    You can purchase online vouchers for the entire Hamburg BUNKER including the KARO&PAUL here. You can buy vouchers at our hotel reception.
